Those Soldiers Brave

They fought in battles those men so brave,
Whose names are mentioned on this grave.
So that for us our lives could keep,
On beaches and in trenches deep.
Up to their knees in freezing mud,
Amongst dead and dying all covered in blood.
Those friends they had made or already knew,
Ordinary people just like me and you.
From every city, small village and town,
Whilst the bombs, and bullets, just kept raining down.
Those soldiers brave, both young and old,
In the heat of the desert, and winters so cold,
Whilst nurses and doctors to the wounded did tend,
They just kept on fighting, right up to the end.
So remember the men whose lives they gave,
Those men and old, Those Soldiers So Brave
